    Book Fairs and Events

Events designed especially for your school

Earn free books for your school

Refresh your school library and classrooms with our generous free books and discounts package.

Host an Usborne book fair or reading event at your school and we will boost the value of book sales with up to 60% of that value in extra FREE books.

Not just any books either - you get to choose the titles you want for the classroom or library and your Independent Usborne Partner will deliver the brand-new books to you at no extra charge.

    More about Usborne author events

    Sponsored reads

Our sponsored reading events are a fantastic way to encourage your pupils to celebrate reading and develop a lifelong love of books.

Usborne will also match the amount raised by up to 60% in FREE books for your school.

    How does it work?

    • Your Independent Usborne Partner (IUP) will launch the event and provide all the resources you need to make it a success
    • Children then read/listen to as many texts as they can in a set period and raise sponsorship money for doing so
    • The money then gets counted (by your IUP!), Usborne adds up to 60% extra to your total and you get to spend it on whichever Usborne books you want!

    Fundraising in your community

Need new books but no budget to buy them? Your Independent Usborne Partner can work with your local community to fundraise on your school's behalf.

How does a Community Book Pledge work?

    • With your permission, your Independent Usborne Partner (IUP) will contact local businesses and organisations for donations on your behalf
    • Usborne will match donations made by up to 60% of the total in additional free books for your school
    • You then choose the Usborne books you'd like, your IUP will deliver them to you and will share the positive impact the donations have made with the sponsors

    Themed events or assemblies

Looking for a reading activity with a difference? Aimed at making reading fun, and sparking your pupils’ curiosity, an Usborne themed event can be whatever you want it to be.

Simply share your ideas (or ask for some suggestions) with your local Independent Usborne Partner who will be happy to curate the event on your behalf.

As a busy teacher, my to-do list is endless, and it isn’t always possible to do events like a book fair justice. Hayley took the responsibility out of my hands, meaning that I had more time to support children in their choices and enjoy watching them discuss books and reading.
