More than a million Earths could fit inside the Sun
Defined by its volume, the Sun is as big as 1.3 million Earths. But defined by its weight, the Sun is only as heavy as 333 thousand Earths. Earth is mostly made of solids and liquids, which hold close together in a tight, heavy ball. The Sun is mostly made of gases and plasma. These spread out to fill a gigantic ball, but compared to Earth they don’t weigh very much.
