‘History’ was invented by an ancient Greek wanderer
A Greek writer named Herodotus was one of the first to list past events, and explain their causes and effects. He gathered eye-witness accounts too, and put it all together in a great work called the ‘Histories’. In 440BC, Herodotus ‘published’ his work by reading it aloud to spectators at the Olympic Games.
