The world’s largest cave has a rainforest growing inside it
Hang Son Doong in Vietnam is the largest cave on Earth. It has a river running through it, and a lush underground rainforest. The cave was first discovered in 1991, but wasn’t explored fully until 2009. Explorers found a forest with trees growing 30m (100ft) tall. A hole in the ceiling provides enough sunlight and rainfall to support an entire rainforest of plants and animals in the cave.
