Old Christmas trees find new life in January
What happens to Christmas trees in January? In some parts of the world they are used to protect animals and preserve fragile ecosystems. Every year in the US state of Illinois, donated Christmas trees are placed on the bottom of lakes and reservoirs. As the trees slowly decay, their branches provide shelter and homes for many different species.
