Underpasses and bridges help red crabs to reach the sea
Every November on Christmas Island, in the Pacific Ocean, hundreds of thousands of red crabs emerge from the forest and make their way to the shore, to lay their eggs in the ocean. So they don’t get lost or killed on the way, Australian authorities close roads and use underpasses, a specially designed crab bridge and miles of plastic fencing to help the crabs get to their destination!
