A tiny spot in your brain is dedicated to recognizing numbers
Scientists have discovered a small area of the brain 0.5cm wide that is used specifically to recognize numbers. It's in a region called the inferior temporal gyrus, which is on both sides of the brain just behind your ears. Studying his region may help scientists find new ways of treating people with dyscalculia - a condition in which people have difficulty identifying numbers.
