Dinosaur skin is a mystery but their feathers are full of facts
Dinosaurs’ leathery skin usually rotted away before it could become fossilized but their feathers fossilized so well that they have helped scientists figure out what feathered dinos looked like. Scientists can compare cells inside bird feathers to those dinosaur feather fossils to work out the shades of a dinosaur’s feather.
