The following terms and conditions apply to the use of the Usborne website at usborne.com (the Usborne Website). These terms and conditions are governed by English law.
The Usborne Website is operated by Usborne Publishing, details of which are shown at the end of these terms and conditions.

The Usborne Website and all images, text, audio and video and other materials appearing on the Usborne Website (the Content), and its arrangement, are the property of Usborne Publishing or its suppliers, and are protected by international copyright and other laws.
None of the Content may be copied, reproduced, transmitted or distributed without the prior permission of Usborne Publishing.
Permission to republish any of the Content of the Website, or to use quotations or extracts from any Usborne books can be requested via this form.
The Usborne name and logos are registered trademarks.

The content of these websites may change at any time and Usborne Publishing is not responsible, and does not accept liability, for the content or availability of any website other than its own. Nor will it be liable for any exposure to harmful, offensive, or inaccurate material which may appear on the Web.
Usborne Publishing will have no liability for any damage or loss caused by viruses that may be accidentally downloaded as a result of browsing any third party sites linked to on the Website.
- Downloadable pictures
The downloadable pictures provided in Usborne Quicklinks may be downloaded to your computer and printed out for your own personal, non-commercial use. For example, students may download pictures to use in a school report or project, and teachers may download pictures for classroom work. The pictures are the copyright of Usborne Publishing and may not be reproduced in print or in electronic form for any commercial or profit-related purpose.
- Competitions and Prize Draws
The following rules, together with (or as varied by) any other terms and information made available to you ("Competition Rules"), apply to any prize draw or other competition run by Usborne Publishing ("Competition"). By participating in any Competition, you agree to be bound by the Competition Rules.
- The basis on which the Competition is run, how to enter, any restrictions on eligible participants, the number of prizes and the deadline for entries will be as shown in the Competition information.
- All entries must be received by the closing date as specified in the Competition information.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring your entry to any Competition is submitted to Usborne Publishing. Usborne Publishing will not be responsible for transmission errors for email entries or for any other error affecting the receipt by Usborne Publishing of entries to a Competition.
- Entrants under 13 (where allowed in the Competition information) must have permission of an adult.
- Only one entry per person is permitted. Use of a false name or address, including a name by which you are not usually known, will disqualify you.
- Usborne employees and Independent Usborne Partners may not enter.
- For competition entries, if more than one correct entry is received the tiebreaker will be judged on originality by an independent person.
- For prize draws, the winning entry will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process that produces a verifiably random result or by or under the supervision of an independent person from all entries received during the prize draw period.
- All winners will be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) within 14 days of the closing date of the competition or prize draw. All prizes will be sent by post to the winners within 14 days of being notified.
- Only winners will be contacted. If you have not heard within two weeks of the closing date, please assume your entry has not been successful.
- Winners' names, towns and copies of winning entries may be displayed on Usborne websites. Names and towns of previous winners will also be available from Usborne Publishing on request. If you object to any or all of your name, town and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Usborne Publishing using the details below.
- Prizes are not transferable or negotiable. Usborne Publishing will select the products that make up the prize. There is no cash alternative. When a competition is run in collaboration with a brand partner, Usborne Publishing is not responsible for any part of the prize supplied by the brand partner.
- Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. Usborne Publishing reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award a prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

- Use of the Usborne Website
No part of the Usborne Website may be copied or reproduced in any manner. You must not use any automatic device or manual process to access, acquire, copy or monitor any portion of the Usborne Website, or in any way reproduce or circumvent the navigational structure or presentation of the Usborne Website. You must not use the Usborne Website in any manner that could damage, disable, impair or overburden the Usborne Website or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Usborne Website through hacking, password mining or any other means.
If you access the Usborne Website from outside the United Kingdom, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
- Liability disclaimer
While every precaution has been taken in providing the Usborne Website, there is no guarantee that it will be free of infection by viruses or anything else which may be harmful or destructive.

ONLINE TERMS OF SALE

The terms of sale below apply to all purchases made on the website usborne.com (“Usborne Website”).
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF SALE CAREFULLY BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER AND RETAIN A COPY OF THESE TERMS AND YOUR ORDER FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
- FORMATION OF THE CONTRACT
1.1 These terms of sale apply to goods supplied by Usborne Publishing Limited, registered in England and Wales number 1124359, registered office Usborne House, 83-85 Saffron Hill, London EC1N 8RT, UK (“Usborne Publishing” or “we”).
1.2 Our acceptance of your order takes place when we have emailed you to confirm that we have accepted it, at which point a contract comes into existence between you and Usborne Publishing.
1.3 The contract is subject to your right of cancellation (see 5.1 below).
1.4 You must be over 18 years old to order any goods through the Usborne Website.
1.5 Goods are supplied through the Usborne Website only for domestic and private use, and you agree not to use them for any commercial purpose or resell them on a commercial basis. We may reject any order if we have reason to suspect that you intend to do so.
- DESCRIPTION, SPECIFICATION AND PRICE OF THE GOODS
2.1 All goods are subject to availability. If on receipt of your order the goods you have ordered are not available in stock, we will inform you as soon as possible, and refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods.
2.2 The description, specification and price of the goods you order will be as shown on the Usborne Website at the time you place your order.
2.3 Usborne Publishing’s policy is to improve its products continually, and so we reserve the right to make minor technical changes to the specification of the goods without affecting their then function, quality or price.
2.4 Every effort will be made to ensure that prices shown on the Usborne Website are accurate at the time you place your order. If an error is found prior to despatch of the goods, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order. If you cancel, we will refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods.
2.5 In addition to the price, you will be required to pay a delivery charge for the goods, as shown in the section of the Usborne Website about delivery.
2.6 The price of the goods and delivery charges are shown inclusive of VAT, where applicable, on the Usborne Website.
2.7 Where the goods are supplied for export from the United Kingdom, you will be liable for shipping and insurance charges as agreed with Usborne Publishing, and responsible for complying with any legislation or regulations governing the importation of the goods into the country of destination and for the payment of any duties on them.
- PAYMENT
3.1 Payment for the goods and delivery charges can be made by any method shown on the Usborne Website at the time you place your order. Usborne Publishing and our third party payment provider use secure TLS and HTTPS encrypted technology for online payments.
3.2 Payment is not made until your credit or debit card has been authorised in respect of the full amount of the price.
3.3 We will send you an email confirming receipt of your payment as soon as it has been authorised.
- DELIVERY
4.1 The goods you order will be delivered to the address you give when you place your order, subject to confirmation by Usborne Publishing.
4.2 If delivery cannot be made to your address, we will inform you as soon as possible, and refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for delivery.
4.3 If there is no one at the address given who is competent to accept delivery of the goods, you will be notified of an alternative delivery date or a place to collect the goods.
4.4 Every effort will be made to deliver the goods as soon as possible after your order has been accepted, and in any event within 30 days of your order. If we are unable to deliver the goods within 30 days of your order, we will inform you as soon as possible and you will be entitled to cancel the order and obtain a refund or re-credit for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from you credit card for the goods. We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through any delay in delivery.
4.5 You will become the owner of the goods you ordered and responsible for risk of loss or damage to them once they have been delivered to you.
- YOUR RIGHT OF CANCELLATION
5.1 You have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any goods. The cancellation period is fourteen calendar days after you receive the goods.
5.2 To exercise your right of cancellation, please let us know by post or email (at the address or email address shown below) or by telephoning us on 0044 (0) 1865 883731, giving your name, address, order number, details of the goods ordered and their delivery date.

5.3 If you exercise your right of cancellation after the goods have been delivered to you, you must return the goods to us in unused and otherwise re-saleable condition. The goods must be returned to the address shown below. You must pay for the costs of returning the goods and obtain proof of posting.
5.5 If prior to returning the goods you handle them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, so that the value of the goods is diminished by any amount, we may recover that amount from you up to the price, or deduct that amount from the sum we refund to you.
5.4 Once you have notified us that you are cancelling the contract, we will refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods within 14 days from when we receive the goods back or evidence that they have been sent back to us.
- WARRANTY AND LIABILITY
6.1 We have a legal duty to you to supply goods that conform with this contract. We also warrant that all goods supplied by Usborne Publishing are free from defects in workmanship or materials for 12 months from the date of supply.
6.2 This warranty does not apply to any defect in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party.
6.3 If the goods supplied to you develop a defect while under warranty, or you have any other complaint about the goods, you should contact us by phone, post or email, using the contact details shown below. We will arrange for defective goods to be repaired or replaced and we will pay the costs of return of any faulty goods to us.
6.4 These warranties do not affect our obligation to provide the goods in accordance with the contract, or your legal rights as a consumer.
6.5 If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
- DATA PROTECTION
7.1 We will at all times treat your personal information in accordance with our legal obligations under the data protection laws and will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
- COMPLAINTS
8.1 If you have a complaint about any goods supplied through the Usborne Website, please contact us as shown below.
8.2 If you have a complaint that we are unable to resolve with you, you may wish to pursue your complaint via an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service. The European Union’s online dispute resolution (ODR) platform (https://ec.europa.eu/odr) can be used for resolving complaints relating to online sales.
- GENERAL
9.1 Usborne Publishing may change these terms of sale without notice to you in relation to future sales.
9.2 This contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
9.3 Each of the paragraphs of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
9.4 These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to English law, and the English courts (or those of any other part of the United Kingdom or any other EU member state in which you reside) will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract.
