The Mystery of Edwin Drood was never finished, and will never be solved
Charles Dickens last novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, was meant to be published in 12 parts. But, in 1870, after completing just six, Dickens fell ill and died. He didn’t leave any notes to reveal how the story was going to end so generations of readers have been left with the ultimate cliffhanger.
