For centuries, sailors have told fantastic tales of huge, tentacled creatures that lurk beneath the waves. Today, we know these creatures really do exist, but we still don’t know how big they can grow. Colossal squid live in deep, pitch-black waters around the Antarctic but very few have been seen in the wild. Scientists suspect a colossal squid can grow longer than a bus but they don’t know for sure.
