Some numbers are letters
Some numbers represent important scientific values – such as the speed of light – and are used over and over again in different calculations. So to save time and effort, scientists use single letters to represent them. For example, the letter ‘c’ represents the ‘speed of light’ and stands for ‘celeritas’ which means speed in Latin.
