Clare Fennell

As a child Clare was either reading, talking or sketching exceptional ball gowns for her toys. After gaining an illustration degree, Clare worked as a designer and product manager in the greetings card industry, before deciding to follow her lifelong ambition to illustrate children's books. Clare set to work creating her own studio filled with picture books, cats, cushions, pencils, paint and a gazillion scraps of paper. She uses a mix of collage and digital techniques, she loves pattern, texture, typography and is always collecting things to use in her artwork. Clare works from her studio in Leicestershire, where she can also be found daydreaming, listening to loud tunes, and drinking too much coffee. She is often distracted by Bowie the Border Collie who likes to give art direction.
