Some chimps and gorillas have been taught to communicate through sign language. They can chat, but don’t ever ask questions. It seems that they have no concept that there might be anything they don’t know. Children, chimps and gorillas all have similarly sized brains. Young children ask questions all the time but chimps and gorillas only ever make statements.
