Babies grow mustaches while they're still in the womb. The hair is called lanugo. When babies have been growing for about four months, it appears on the upper lip, then spreads over the rest of their bodies. Lanugo usually drops off before the baby is born. When babies are born they can't cry properly, they make the right noises but their eyes don't make any tears, it takes about a month before a baby cries with tears.
