View series: Activity Cards
It's always a challenge to pack activities on outings to keep small children occupied. These activity cards from Usborne are perfect for that, and small enough to fit into your handbag. My children loved them.
I wouldn't want to travel without this nowadays! The best bit is that they wipe clean and can be used again and again. The card they are printed on is pretty sturdy and they don't require anything to lean on in order to use them so they are a pretty great activity for the car as well as any other form of travelling.
Taking off on foreign climes can be thrilling, but that flight to the sun will be less stressful for everyone if overexcited small people are occupied. 100 Things for Little Children to Do on a Journey aims to fill the time with a compact pack of wipe-clean double-sided activity cards complete with pen, which invites children to spot the difference, complete mazes, search for words and much more.
Really clever. You get a wipe clean pen, so you can do the puzzles and play the games over and over, plus there's drawing options as well, and they pack down into a small box - perfect for the plane.
Younger children have even more cards in the 100 Things for Little Children to do on a journey set in which, as well as a myriad options for drawing ('someone magical sitting on a spotty toadstool'), puzzles and the odd maze, I am delighted to see that there is a card which encourages children to look out of the car window to find various items. Another option is 50 Things to do on a car Journey and all that has to be done is to choose a card and follow the instructions on the back. Either of these would be great help now that motorway travelling is a distinct hindrance when it comes to playing pub cricket.
