English Readers for Teachers

Usborne English Readers are ideal for use both in the classroom and for independent reading.

  • The series was developed in consultation with acclaimed ELT expert Peter Viney.
  • Extensive reading – reading a range of longer texts in English – has proven benefits for students, significantly improving not only their reading skills but also writing, listening and speaking.
  • Students can build their reading stamina and expand their vocabulary, but also develop vital skills such as understanding from context.
  • Choosing and finishing readers independently is highly motivating for students. Moreover, students who come to enjoy reading in English will often go on to read more widely in their own language.
