Open gates and peep behind hay bales to see which farm animals are popping up to say hello. Did you catch a glimpse of a pink curly tail, or a woolly head, or two big hairy ears? See if you can guess who they are before turning the page to see them pop up to meet you. Great farm fun for little children.
Growing up on the Wirral and in Germany, Anna wrote plays about talking animals, and stories about naughty children, and drew on every available surface. After school, she did an Art Foundation course, then a degree in German Literature and Philosophy at Oxford University. In 1998 she found her perfect job at Usborne in London, writing about everything from curious penguins to trips to the Moon.
As a child Clare was either reading, talking or sketching exceptional ball gowns for her toys. After gaining an illustration degree, Clare worked as a designer and product manager in the greetings card industry, before deciding to follow her lifelong ambition to illustrate children's books. Clare set to work creating her own studio filled with picture books, cats, cushions, pencils, paint and a gazillion scraps of paper. She uses a mix of collage and digital techniques, she loves pattern, texture, typography and is always collecting things to use in her artwork. Clare works from her studio in Leicestershire, where she can also be found daydreaming, listening to loud tunes, and drinking too much coffee. She is often distracted by Bowie the Border Collie who likes to give art direction.
