Our exciting plans for World Book Day 2022!
With the autumn term now well underway, we know that now is the time that teachers start thinking about our favourite time of the year – World Book Day, taking place on 3rd March 2022! Last year’s World Book Day was incredibly challenging with most pupils learning at home, so we’re going all out with some extra special plans this year, which just so happens to tie in with World Book Day’s own exciting 25th anniversary celebrations taking place in 2022!
Our Independent Usborne Partners are offering a range of events, from book fairs and sponsored reads to author visits and story time sessions, suitable for all ages and key stages. Best of all, all the planning, hosting and post-event admin is arranged by your Independent Usborne Partner, completely free of charge! All our events will inspire more children than ever before to develop a life-long love of reading for pleasure, ensuring that the excitement of World Book Day continues to make a positive impact on children’s futures all year round.

World Book Day is all about making sure children have books and can enjoy reading, and what better way to do so than getting up to 60% in free books of your choice for your school with every event you hold with an Usborne Partner?
We are also creating a range of free activities with video content from Usborne authors and editors to bring books to life for your pupils. With different activities to suit everyone from 0-18, we’re sure that there will be something to capture you and your students’ attention as you embark on some exciting reading adventures with us.

World Book Day tokens
Giving children and young people the opportunity to choose and own a book of their own is at the heart of World Book Day’s mission to encourage reading for pleasure. Every year World Book Day works with publishers to produce 12 new and exclusive £1 books so that children can choose and own one in exchange for their £1 token. Booksellers take part in World Book Day to help create the readers of the future. Booksellers buy the books and give them to children in exchange for the £1 token. They give children the chance to experience choosing and owning a book – for free. Children can use their £1 tokens towards ANY Usborne book bought from an Independent Usborne Partner, as well as through participating bookshops.
