Pussy cat New York
Theo reading Pussy cat New York

Review from Candice, mum of Theo (aged 2 and a bit):

"Planning a family trip to New York? Lucky you. If you are, this is a great book for familiarising your little one with this vast city. Featuring Central Park, the Chrysler Building, the Yankee Stadium, Times Square and much more, it’s a child friendly tour of New York.

Sadly for us we are not braving the eight hour flight to New York with our toddler, but Theo still enjoyed looking out for the pussy cat, finding him in all the pictures, and listening to the words. The illustrations are beautifully crafted, bright, busy and contain lots of extra features to spark further conversation.

Theo loved the park illustration, although he was convinced there was a crocodile in the water fountain! (Thank you ‘The Secret Life of Pets’). Another favourite was the subway – the concept of a cat going on a train seemed to amuse.

At 2 years old, the details of the buildings and their names were somewhat lost on Theo, but for an older child it would be perfect. The information is brief and to the point – oh and it rhymes as well which always helps!"
