Series: Classics retold
Chaucer’s outrageous comic tales delightfully retold for today’s young readers. An ill-matched band of strangers are setting off on a pilgrimage to Canterbury. To amuse themselves along the way, they hold a storytelling competition. But the tales soon turn from ripping yarns to slanging matches… Clearly written in a modern, approachable style to introduce young readers to much-loved classic stories. Includes informative notes on both the author and the original tales.

“Great for Schools”
This is a great collection of re-tellings suitable for KS2-3 students who want to get the joy of reading Chaucer's tales, without the labour of the original language. Also provides excellent opportunities for comparing language and considering detailed plot and narrative techniques.
