Series: Picture books for libraries
By Jane Chisholm
This beautiful picture book tells the story of the Nativity through some of the most-loved paintings of the Christmas story. Each page focuses on an event, from Mary meeting Angel Gabriel to Jesus’ birth and the journey of the Three Kings. Published in association with The National Gallery, and with links to websites with more about the paintings.
Jane has worked at Usborne Publishing for over 35 years, joining the publisher in Covent Garden – before the tourists came – where their offices looked onto the grand dining rooms of the Garrick Club. She grew up in the middle of a forest in Sussex, where she and her siblings spent their childhood building tree houses and pretending to be the Famous Five, and in cities all over the world from Berlin to Moscow to Singapore. Before university, she spent a year in southern Africa, mostly in Botswana, assisting the social worker in a small town and camping out in the Kalahari Desert. A graduate in history, as Editorial Director at Usborne, she oversees a large team working on children’s books about absolutely everything.
