Series: Classics retold
Based on the classic tale by Mary Shelley, this gripping horror story recounts Victor Frankenstein’s terrible experiment to "build" a human without a soul. Retold in a gripping and readable way for modern readers, while remaining faithful to the original text. Includes useful notes on other versions of the Frankenstein story, including films.

Frankenstein has always been one of my favourite stories. I have read it time and again for both pleasure and study purposes. Whilst perusing the site, I came across this 'child friendly' version and bought it for my 12 year old son. Because I have always enjoyed the story, we decided to read it together (well, I read it to him!) and found ourselves in anticipation for the next installment. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and I have to say that, being so familiar with the original, I was not disappointed. I have since purchased more of the Usbourne Classics Retold and my son and I are enjoying more time together reading these fascinating stories in an age where XBOX and Playstation apparently rule! Highly recommended.
