L.A. Weatherly is the author of the bestselling Angel series, as well as almost 50 other books for children and teenagers. She’s originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, but now lives in a drafty Victorian house in the Scottish Borders. Her books have been translated into at least thirteen different languages.
Lee has loved big, epic fiction since reading Stephen King’s The Stand at 16. She thought then that destroying the world must be about the most fun an author could ever have. Now, with two epic trilogies under her belt – the Angel trilogy and the Broken trilogy – she realizes she was right. Lee’s a classic-movie geek, plus a fan of Joss Whedon, strong heroines, and chocolate pie. She’s currently planning something deliciously Gothic.

Lee's new series is set in a daring and distorted echo of 1940s America, where harmony supposedly rules and your zodiac sign marks your destiny.
There are a lot of references to the Second World War in Broken Sky, although it is not specifically about that. There is a lot of astrology in it too, which goes back to Adolf Hitler’s supposed love of the supernatural. L.A. Weatherly

Angels are all around us: beautiful, awe-inspiring, irresistible. But what if their potent magnetism isn't what it seems?
Utterly intoxicating and deeply compelling, Lee's bestselling Angel trilogy is an epic tale of love, destiny and sacrifice.
If Eoin Colfer reinvented the fairy and Stephenie Meyer reinvented the vampire, then without a doubt L.A. Weatherly has reinvented the angel in this powerful, dark and hugely suspenseful novel. LoveReading4Kids review of Angel
