Usborne illustrators

Usborne books feature the work of illustrators from around the world and we are always looking for brilliant new styles.

We are interested in all styles of illustration; colourful, bright and fun, quirky, stylish and beautiful, detailed and informative, and suitable for babies right up to young adults.

If you are interested, please send copies of your work to the Usborne Art Director at the address given below, or email artdirector@usborne.co.uk.

Do not send any original work and, sorry, but we cannot guarantee a reply.

Design vacancies are regularly advertised on our Jobs page.

Fiction

Manuscripts must be submitted by a literary agent. We are not able to consider unsolicited manuscripts. Any unsolicited manuscripts sent to us will, regretfully, be returned unread. Please note that you must enclose an SAE in order for us to return your manuscript.

Non-fiction

All Usborne non-fiction books, including baby books, picture books, activity books and novelty books, are written by in-house Usborne editor/writers. No submissions will be considered. Editorial vacancies are regularly advertised on our Jobs page.

Advice for authors

If you have not already done so, you may find it useful to look for prospective publishers or literary agents (who can approach suitable publishers on your behalf) in The Children’s Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook. There’s also lots of useful information on the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook website at www.writersandartists.co.uk.
